CT inaugurates a center for the design and manufacturing of industrial products in Sabadell

The facility will make custom products, prototypes of industrial machinery, systems, and components for the energy sector. The inauguration was attended by representatives of the City of Sabadell, energy companies, and technological research centers

Today CT inaugurated its first design and manufacturing center in Sabadell (Catalonia, Spain). Here, electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment is designed, and products and prototypes of machinery, systems, and industrial components are manufactured. These products are used in hydroelectric plants, combined cycle plants, and biomass cogeneration plants.

This center enables CT to produce generators, electrical panels, rotary diode exciters, motor bearings, and alternator components, in addition to assembly, maintenance and repair services for equipment and components on a customer's premises. "These products are the result of R & D activities, and tailored to meet the dimensions, needs, and standards set by our customers", explains Joan Piedrafita, Head of the design and manufacturing center. Vicente Egea, General Director of CT, said that "this design and manufacturing center brings engineering and innovation solutions to help the industrial sector become more competitive”. Asier Gutiérrez, Electrical Engineering Business Manager, emphasized how the facility enhances CT’s capacity to serve customers. “We are not showing you what we have done, but we can do for you in the future”, he said.

The inauguration was attended by representatives of Acciona, Iberdrola, Endesa or Efacec; Research centers such as Eurecat, representatives of the Autonomous University of Barcelona; and representatives of the Department of Industry of the City of Sabadell.

The center, located in the Can Roqueta II Industrial Sector in Sabadell (Carrer Can Mauri, 54), has the team of engineers and technicians from OTSA Maquinaria Eléctrica. After acquiring OTSA Maquinaria Eléctrica, CT reinforces its presence in Catalonia where it has a technical office, located in Barcelona, made up of a hundred engineers that serve the automotive, energy and railway sectors.
